BOTOX COSMETIC
WHAT IS BOTOX COSMETIC?
Botox is a neuromodulator serum that, when injected with a very fine needle specifically designed for this treatment, temporarily relaxes treated facial muscles for 3 to 6 months. Botox contains no artificial additives; hence it is extremely unlikely to produce an allergic reaction or to induce antibodies that would undermine its effectiveness in achieving the desired outcome.
HOW DOES BOTOX COSMETIC HELP?
By relaxing deeply etched frown furrows and stubborn, ingrained forehead lines that tend not to disappear despite regularly moisturizing, Botox Cosmetic rejuvenates and refreshes tired facial features. Botox works to create a more youthful and relaxed appearance. The changes are subtle, yet effective. You will look rested, energized, and refreshed; still yourself, but younger-looking.
WHAT DOES IT TREAT?
Botox Cosmetic treats the facial muscles which tend to make us to look angry, weary, or care worn. Botox is also used to treat chronic migraine headaches, excessive sweating of the underarms, hands, and feet, as well as jaw clenching / TMJ pain.
Common areas to inject Botox are frown and forehead lines, crow’s feet or laugh lines, tension creases at the sides of the mouth; even a dimpled chin can be treated.
NUMBER OF TREATMENTS?
The effects of Botox Cosmetic occur within one week and continue to bloom for two more weeks; the results can last from 3 to 6 months. We recommend a thorough consultation prior to your first treatment to study and identify how your facial muscles move and interact with each other. A consultation is a great way to develop both short and long-term treatment plans so that we can best treat your concerns and meet your goals.
DOWNTIME
There is little to no downtime with Botox injections. Our medical staff will always do their utmost to insure the best care with minimal discomfort throughout the injection process. However, you may experience a tiny amount of bleeding and some bruising at the injection site. It is recommended that you avoid alcohol consumption a minimum of three days (to a week) prior to receiving treatment in order to minimize bruising, especially if you tend to bruise easily. However, there is no need to book time off work after this procedure. If you have a major event on the horizon, be sure to book a couple of weeks in advance of the event to ensure you look REFRESHED!
